The Summer means vacations! And a vacation means long holidays away from home. Although we might like to pack our luggage and explore different destinations, the idea of packing usually makes everyone frantic. Packing need not be a nightmare, if you know exactly what to pack. To avoid a wardrobe disaster, it is critical to know the climate of your destination, and pack according to the weather and the activities planned.
If you are planning to hit the beach, then the first thing that should go into your suitcase is your swim-wear, towels and beachwear. A large tote bag, sunscreen, super-sized sunglasses, a wide brimmed hat, a fabric headband, giant hoop earrings and a pair of jeweled thong sandals or slide on shoes would be the most appropriate accessories for a sunny day at the beach. Don’t forget to carry a few cover-up dresses, scarfs, as well as cute but casual summer dresses. In addition to these, a stylish cocktail dress and high heels will be perfect. These looks will also work as cruise attire also.
If your vacation is an extended business trip, then the first thing that you need to pack is a black or neutral colored suit made of a wrinkle resistant material. A pair of classic black or navy blue trousers and a few full-sleeved patterned shirts. A stylish blazer, a classic little black dress and a pair of classic slim-fit jeans is a must-have for those sudden unofficial or after-work outings. Women will need some classic pumps or wedge sandals and men will need some classic loafers that will transition from office to evening allowing you the perfect business-cum-pleasure vacation.
If your travels take you to a European or tourist destination, consider that you will be doing a lot of walking and need comfortable attire. Women should have dresses, drawstring pants, cute shorts with flat scandals or closed-toe shoes, consider a pair of Tory Burch loafers. Loafers and flats can be teamed up with both pants and skirts as well. A neutral colored bag a long with sophisticated accessories will complete your look for your European travels. Stick with the basics and add flair with accessories, scarfs and jewelry.
Poolside holidays are all about having fun and being relaxed. If you are planning to take a dip in the pool many times, then carry at least 3 – 4 swimsuits. Vibrant patterned swimsuits, short navy dresses, colorful striped shorts, polka dot or brilliant white bikinis, patterned chiffon kaftans, and a colorful cotton sundress or backless halter-neck dress will be the appropriate clothing for the occasion. Charm bracelets, funky sunglasses, print metallic sandals, and a large tote bag will make you the center of attraction.
Although most destinations are quite sunny during summer, it is always best to pack a pair of lightweight jeans, a few long sleeved shirts, a sweater or a light denim jacket to tackle unusual climate changes.
